Meet the Authors

HRH Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of Rajpipla and HH Prince DeAndre, Duke of Hanumanteshwar, are the co-authors of A Royal Commitment: Ten Years of Marriage and Activism. Their work brings together lived experience, royal history, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, cultural leadership, and a shared commitment to human dignity. Through writing and public service, they document not only their marriage, but also the responsibilities, challenges, and possibilities created when personal truth becomes part of public history.

 

HRH Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil of Rajpipla

HRH Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil is an internationally recognized LGBTQIA+ advocate, humanitarian, and member of the royal family of Rajpipla, Gujarat, India. His decision to live openly and speak publicly about his identity placed him at the center of an important global conversation about dignity, equality, family, tradition, and social change.

As the founder of Lakshya Trust, Prince Manvendra has worked to advance health, safety, education, and community support for LGBTQIA+ people in India. His leadership also extends through Queer Bagh and related cultural and humanitarian initiatives. In A Royal Commitment, he writes with honesty about royal responsibility, personal freedom, family conflict, public scrutiny, and the long work of creating change from within established institutions.

 

HH Prince DeAndre, Duke of Hanumanteshwar

HH Prince DeAndre, Duke of Hanumanteshwar, is an American author, cultural historian, museum collaborator, accessibility advocate, and Creative Director of H1927LLC. His work examines the relationship between lived experience, public memory, constitutional responsibility, identity, and the institutions that shape how history is understood.

His growing body of work includes A Royal Commitment, the Sovereign series on Rajpipla history, essays examining constitutional morality in the United States and India, accessible-travel advocacy, and work in museum interpretation and cultural preservation. Through H1927LLC, he is building a living intellectual-property catalogue that connects published work, developing manuscripts, historical research, and public scholarship while protecting material that has not yet been released.
