Next Stop, Love
A cross-country train journey brings two longtime friends to Washington, D.C., where separate living arrangements, unfinished romances and an unexpected extension of their stay force them to reconsider what—and who—might feel like home.
Moving from Hollywood and San Francisco through Utah, Michigan, Chicago and Washington, D.C., Next Stop, Love is a grown-up LGBTQIA+ romantic comedy-drama about friendship, chosen family, bisexuality, disability, travel and the complicated space between the life one planned and the life waiting at the next stop.
The Washington chapter unfolds against community events, nightlife, advocacy, spirituality and the approaching Halloween season. When disrupted train service delays the journey south, the travelers receive something neither expected: more time. One must decide whether to continue pursuing an emotionally unavailable man or recognize an unexpected possibility nearby. The other must confront whether a powerful connection formed in Michigan belongs only to the journey—or could become a destination.
